David knew God in a personal intimate way. A. He writes verse one as: the LORD is MY light and MY salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of MY life; of whom shall I be afraid?1. When God is our light and salvation, there is no need for fear.2. When God is the strength of our lives, all enemies to our souls are weak.B. David knew the personal dealings of God.1. God delivered him from the lion and bear.2. God delivered him from Goliath.3. God anointed him king.4. God gave him victory after victory over the Philistines.C. This is why he was able to write verses 2 & 3: ( Psalm 27:2-3 )1. When David said, "in this will I be confident.", he was stating even though all this comes my way...I will still have faith in God.II. Verse 4 is David's expressed desire.A. There is only one thing David desired...to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life.1. Deut 23:2 states an illegitimate son shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord, even to his tenth generation.2. Judah had incestuous relations with his daughter in law...Tamar.a.
