He's speaking to people who thought they could impress God with lavish edifices, and fancy trappings.And, the God of the Universe asks with just a slight trace of sarcasm:"How do you propose to build a dwelling place for the One whose Throne is the heavens and whose footstool is the earth?""How do you propose to build a ranch for the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills?""How do you think you can build an edifice to box in an omnipresent God?""Do you think that I'm drawn to your gold leaf, and your silver goblets, your marble pillars, and velvet trappings?"You've got it all wrong, folks, the Lord said.You know those gold nuggets you mined, melted, formed into candlesticks?o Well, I created them in the first place!You know that marble you hewed out of the mountain, ...
