Andy GossettMatthew 12:18-2118 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles.19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.Introduction:We live in a society that always wants to throw away that which is of no use to them.We eat on paper plates and drink out of disposable bottles so we can just toss them out when we are done. We don't have to wash them. We don't have to take care of them.We try to get people to retire early and when their health is no longer good, discard them.We want to take no responsibility for those things.What I gather from this passage.1. We all have certain responsibilities when we are born in this world.A reed was supposed to make music.Flax was supposed to give light.Ecclesiastes 12:1313 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.The very reason that you were made was to worship God.
